Dian Solutions OÜ, Sepapaja tn 6, 15551 Tallinn, Estonia. Email: chris@dian.solutions.

Hosting

  • The site runs on a server operated by netcup GmbH, Daimlerstraße 25, 76185 Karlsruhe, Germany, which processes data on our behalf.
  • To deliver a page, the server processes your IP address, the time, the requested address and your browser's details on every request.
  • The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is delivering the site securely and reliably.
  • We keep no access logs. The server's error messages contain no personal data.

Cookies

  • We set no cookies for visitors.
  • Your browser's local storage holds at most three small entries from this site: ds_consent, disable-rybbit and ds-theme. None of them holds data about your behaviour, all are strictly necessary, and you can delete them in your browser settings at any time.
  • ds_consent: for one year after you click OK on our short notice, so that the notice does not come back.
  • disable-rybbit: only if you turn statistics off (see Statistics), until you turn them back on.
  • Light or dark theme: if you use the switch at the bottom right, your browser stores your choice (localStorage, key "ds-theme"). It stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can delete it in your browser settings at any time.

Contact form

  • When you write to us through the form, we process your name, email address and message in order to answer you.
  • The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry is about a project, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
  • The message is sent to us by email through the Resend service of Plus Five Five, Inc. (2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA).
  • Resend sends through its EU region (Ireland) for us, but may also process data in the US. Resend is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision, Art. 45 GDPR), and the EU standard contractual clauses also apply.
  • To prevent abuse, we keep your IP address in memory for at most ten minutes (an IPv6 address only shortened to its network part), to limit how many messages one connection can send. It is never written to disk.
  • We delete your enquiry once it is settled, unless statutory retention duties require otherwise.

Statistics

  • To see how many people visit this site and which pages they read, we use Rybbit, open-source statistics software that we run ourselves at analytics.dian.solutions, on a server of netcup GmbH (see Hosting). We use the statistics for nothing else: no advertising, no profiling, no combination with other data. No data goes to the makers of the software or to other third parties, and nothing leaves the EU.
  • On each page view your browser sends that server the address of the page without parameters, the page you came from, your browser, operating system and device type, your screen size and language, and your IP address.
  • To recognise automated visits (bots), the script also reads a few properties of your browser on each page view (automation markers, the name of the graphics renderer, the list of plugins) and sends the result as a score.
  • From the IP address the server derives your approximate location at city level (country, region, city, and the coordinates of the city centre or postal area, not of your device), your time zone and the network operator (ASN). It uses a local database for this and asks no outside service.
  • The server also forms a short visitor code from the IP address, the browser details and a value that changes every day. Because the code changes daily, your visits cannot be linked across days or with other websites.
  • The IP address itself is not stored in the statistics. For bot detection it is held in working memory only, for up to about one day, and it is never written to a disk or a backup.
  • Rybbit sets no cookies, and our site stops it from storing anything on your device.
  • The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is understanding the reach of this site and improving it.
  • We delete the statistics after 13 months. Data is deleted by calendar month, so single entries can remain until the end of that month. Backup copies are deleted within 14 days after that.
  • You can object at any time (Art. 21 GDPR). The quickest way is the switch below. It turns statistics off in this browser by saving the entry disable-rybbit in its local storage, and you can turn them back on the same way. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we do not load the statistics at all. Do Not Track is not evaluated. You can also write to chris@dian.solutions.
  • Because the visitor code changes daily and cannot be linked to you, we usually cannot find your entries in the statistics (Art. 11 GDPR). Your other rights are listed in the section Your rights.
  • This product includes GeoLite Data created by MaxMind, available from https://www.maxmind.com.

What we do not use

  • No third-party analytics, no tracking across sites, no advertising.
  • No fonts or content from third-party servers; the fonts come from our own server.
  • Links to other sites are plain links. Nothing loads from them until you click.

Your rights

  • You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR).
  • An email to chris@dian.solutions is enough.
  • You can complain to a data protection supervisory authority: for example the one in your country of residence, or the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, Tatari 39, 10134 Tallinn), which is responsible for us.
